Final Call: Don’t Miss the Purdue Small Farm Education Field Day – July 24th!

Small Farm Field Day, July 24, 2025

Time is running out to secure your spot at this year’s most comprehensive small-scale farming educational event!

The Purdue Small Farm Education Field Day is just days away, and we’re excited to announce that whether you’re able to join us in person or connect from afar, you won’t miss out on this invaluable learning opportunity.

Join Us In Person for the Full Experience

Nothing beats hands-on learning! We strongly encourage all growers to attend in person at the Purdue Student Farm (1491 Cherry Lane, West Lafayette) on July 24th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. When you’re here with us, you’ll:

  • Get your hands dirty with actual equipment during our demonstrations
  • Ask specific questions directly to our Purdue experts and Extension specialists
  • Network face-to-face with fellow growers who share your challenges and successes
  • See, touch, and test the latest farming tools and techniques firsthand
  • Experience the research plots where our data comes from
  • Build lasting connections that extend far beyond the field day

There’s something irreplaceable about examining pepper varieties up close, feeling the difference between various hoe styles, and watching equipment demonstrations in real-time. Our small group sizes (maximum of 10 participants per demonstration) ensure that you receive personalized attention and can engage in meaningful discussions with both presenters and fellow attendees.

Can’t Make It In Person? We’ve Got You Covered!

NEW THIS YEAR: Live video streaming via Zoom!

We understand that not everyone can travel to West Lafayette, whether due to distance, scheduling conflicts, or other commitments. That’s why we’re now offering live video streaming of select demonstrations and presentations throughout the day.

What you’ll get with virtual attendance:

  • Real-time access to key presentations and demonstrations
  • Ability to submit questions during live Q&A sessions
  • View detailed close-ups of equipment and techniques via our mobile camera
  • Opportunity to interact with presenters and other virtual attendees

While virtual attendance offers valuable learning opportunities, we want to be transparent: some of the hands-on elements, networking opportunities, and tactile learning experiences are simply best experienced in person.
